Corduroy is 26 years old, which is equal to approximately 21 in cat years, is a rather naughty cat despite being so old. She is currently the holder of the oldest living cat in the Guinness Book Of World Records. However, he still acts as if he is only 10; he will still jump onto counters and often moves outdoors to enjoy the nature. His owner, Reed Okura, adoptedthe half Maine Coon cat from a shelter in Oregon when she was 7 years old.

Corduroy has to stick to a special low-protein diet to protect his kidneys, but even then he is in good health. Reed said, I think that my decision not to declaw him and allow him to go outdoors is the secret to his long life. With his claws, he could easily defend himself, and also hunt prey which kept his mind healthy and his body in proper shape.Although he still catches critters, recently his performance has dropped quite a bit, thankfully.

Reed added, I am really honoured to have him in my life, I cant imagine my life without him.He has been a wonderful friend and hopefully he will stay my friend and lead a happy life for several years in the future.

Dont forget to share this with your friends and family if you enjoyed it!
