The baths, also known as the Turkish Bath, have been active since the 15th century.
It was in the 18th century that the Western world came to know about these baths through European tourists.
Later, it became a favorite destination for foreigners.
There are real and fake stories all over the world about bathrooms lined with naked people.
Hammam usually has separate bathrooms for men and women.
However, in some tourist destinations, men and women can bathe in the same place.
Visitors will first receive a special type of clean towel. After changing clothes, they should be worn half-naked in the waiting room. Along with this you will get bathing suits and shoes.
Once the clothes are changed, you can enter the inner chambers known as Hararat. Hot water and steam baths are available here.
After that, go to the hot marble floors known as Gobek. When you lie there, you know that heat seeps into your body.
Now comes the massage. There are special men and women for that. They cover customers with soap bubbles. It is then pressed with a special material made of horse hair.
Later, the knees and ankles are massaged. This massage is in a way that relaxes the muscles and joints. After that, rinse again. Then wipe your body with a towel and relax.
